Fascia is a tough connective tissue that is distributed throughout the body, wrapping around our muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. Fascia not only supports and protects these structures but also provides a slippery and stretchy environment, allowing muscles to move smoothly. Under normal circumstances, fascia should be soft and elastic, allowing muscles and organs to move without restrictions.
Fascia is like wearing a tight-fitting full-body wetsuit, which is very flexible and tightly wraps around every inch of your skin without restricting any of your movements. However, if a part of the wetsuit becomes too tight or damaged, it may pull on other areas, affecting your range of motion and even causing pain.
